You’ve invested in coaching programs.
You’ve signed up for courses, joined communities, downloaded templates, and sat through calls…
And still, you’re not seeing the traction or transformation you expected.
Let’s tell the truth: the program may not be the problem.
How you entered the program matters just as much as what the program provides.
I know this because I’ve lived it.
I was once so excited to join a program—ready for the breakthrough I was promised.
But I didn’t join the community. I ignored the one thing they asked (post a photo), and I kept my camera off during the calls.
I didn’t define my goals. I didn’t schedule the work. I didn’t take ownership.
And it wasn’t because I was lazy.
It’s because I was overwhelmed and unclear. I never asked myself what success would look like. I never got specific about what I needed from the experience.
That moment changed how I approach growth—and how I serve my clients.
So let’s break this down with clarity.
Here’s how you can get actual results from any program you invest in—without spinning in frustration.
What Does It Mean to “Get Results” from a Program?
Getting results doesn’t always mean a financial leap.
It means that something in your business moved forward on purpose.
It’s helping your goal become a reality.
It’s getting things unstuck and flowing again.
It means the investment translated into clarity, completion, or capacity.
And that only happens when you take ownership of the experience from the start.
Why You Need to Define Success Before You Start a Program
Programs give you information.
What you do with it is what creates transformation.
Too often, we sign up hoping a breakthrough will “hit.”
But breakthroughs are built.
They come from intention, clarity, and consistency.
Here’s why setting up your process matters:
- You can’t measure what you didn’t define.
- You’ll default to frustration if you don’t name your outcomes.
- You might expect the program to “fix” something that actually needs you to move.
- You waste less time when your expectations are clear.
- You avoid program regret and instead, build momentum.
Step-by-Step Instructions to Get Results From Any Program
These are the same steps I use now—and what I walk clients through to maximize every investment they make in the programs I offer.
Step 1: Clarify Your Outcome
Before the first video or call, ask yourself:
- What do I want to walk away with?
- What does a “win” look like by the end of this?
- What problem am I here to solve?
If you don’t name it, you can’t track it.
Step 2: Define 2–3 KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
This is where most people skip—and it’s where I used to skip, too.
KPIs are how you know you’re making progress.
For example:
- Did I create my sales page?
- Have I pitched my offer 3x this month?
- Did I go live, post content, or publish what I learned?
- Do I follow up with leads?
- Am I getting my offers in front of people consistently or am I spending too much time creating the offer itself?
- Is my back end automated and simple?
- Have I evaluated my customer journey to ensure they are having a stellar experience?
Results aren’t just big wins. They’re visible, trackable movements.
Step 3: Take Inventory of What You’re Starting With
What do you already have that you’re not using?
Do you have a half-written funnel? A sales script you forgot about?
This step helped reduce the overwhelm that I felt when I joined my first program.
It’s not about adding more. It’s about aligning what’s already there.
Step 4: Block Out Time to Execute
Here’s where I missed the mark: I never scheduled the work.
If the program expects 1 hour a week of learning, schedule 2 hours a week to implement.
If you don’t make time, the work won’t happen.
Programs don’t create results. Consistency does.
You may be an expert in your program topic, but have you actually put any of that learning into action?
Step 5: Reflect Weekly
Check in with your energy and output. Ask:
- What did I complete this week?
- What’s still pending—and why?
- Am I emotionally engaged or avoiding something?
- I know what I want to do, but what do I need to do? What are my priorities this week that will move the needle towards my goal?
This is where you learn to coach yourself forward.
It’s how I got honest about the excuses I was making.
Step 6: Adjust, Don’t Abandon
Maybe you realize a course is too advanced or not what you need this season.
That’s fine. But don’t quit—adjust your approach.
Sometimes the best move is shifting to a DFY (Done-For-You) model, where someone brings your vision together with speed and structure.
And honestly? With the amount of money I poured into programs before I learned this—I could’ve hired someone to help me build what I actually needed for roughly the same cost.
Key Considerations for Getting Results Without Burnout
- Don’t assume every investment should be DIY (Do-It-Yourself).
- Know the season you’re in (are you building, refining, or scaling?)
- Be honest about your available time and capacity.
If you’re tired of being in the classroom and ready to be in the field, you may need more implementation and less instruction.
Taking it to the Next Level: Getting Support That Moves You Forward
You can keep downloading PDFs and watching modules.
Or you can work with someone who consolidates what you’ve learned and actually builds it with you.
That’s the power of hiring for clarity and completion—not just content.
Alternatives to DIY Programs
- Join a live accountability container.
- Work with a coach who walks you through the work personally.
- Hire a DFY specialist (like me) to build the backend of your business so you can focus on transformation and visibility.
Your Results Are Waiting On Your Clarity
Programs don’t create success.
You do.
And now, you have a process to help you do it differently next time.
I’ve been on the overwhelmed side.
I’ve been the one who signed up but didn’t show up.
And I’ve been the one who turned it around—by asking better questions, building better systems, and getting the right support.
Launch Your Program in 6 Months with My DFY Experience
If you’re ready to stop starting over, and finally get results you can feel, measure, and scale, let’s work together. My specialty is helping business owners to add a coaching element to their existing offers. The goal is to help them scale their time and income so they have a residual income model that is not tied to their availability.
I support those who have a successful service-based business (like a Virtual Assistant or Web Designer), in-person business (like a tax firm or real estate company), or even an online business (like an Etsy seller or author).
It’s not unusual for business owners to get asked, “Can you teach me to do what you do?” Once that happens, it may be time to add a coaching element to your offers. This could be in the form of a membership, course, 1-1 high-end coaching, or group coaching.
If you’re like I was, I would have benefited from working with a DFY coach to achieve my goals back when I was trying to piece it together on my own. Working with me means that you are not just purchasing a course with a few 1-1 calls to help you get going. My team and I actually do the majority of the heavy lifting so you can launch your program in just 6 months.
