5 Key Decisions for Building a High-Converting Quiz Funnel

5 Key Decisions for Building a High-Converting Quiz Funnel
5 Funnel Decisions for a High-Converting Quiz Funnel
If you’re building a quiz funnel and feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, this post is for you. Because building the funnel isn’t the goal.
The right conversion is.
And a high-converting quiz funnel works when you connect with:
  • The right person
  • At the right time
  • On the right platform
  • With the right offer
That’s the core of a funnel that converts. If you’re like most coaches, experts, authors, business owners, or speakers I work with, you’ve probably been told to ‘start with the landing page.’
Let me save you some time. That’s the wrong place to start.
Here are the five strategic quiz funnel decisions I walk every client through. Use them in the right order to stop guessing and start converting.

5 Quiz Funnel Decisions to Boost Conversions and Eliminate Guesswork

1. Start With the Next Step, Not the Quiz

Before anything else, ask this:
What is the ideal action I want someone to take after they complete the quiz?
There’s no point creating a funnel if you don’t know where it’s going.
Here are a few examples:
  • Book a call for ready-to-buy leads
  • Download a PDF or watch a video for those still browsing
  • Try a $7 offer or start a 7-day trial for the curious but not committed
When you know your next step, every part of your funnel can be built to support that goal.

2. Map Your Visibility Strategy

How are people going to find your quiz?
  • Podcast interviews
  • Speaking engagements
  • Social media content
  • Warm referrals
  • Paid advertising
  • Masterminds or summits
Your traffic source impacts your messaging.
A referral is likely a warm lead ready to act. A podcast listener may need more nurturing. Your quiz funnel strategy should meet them where they are.

3. Do the Pre-Work Before Writing Any Copy

This is where most people waste time. This is also where ScoreApp becomes your secret weapon. If you are unfamiliar with Score App, it’s my preferred tool when building quiz funnels.

A significant part of the pre-work includes figuring out what your ideal clients are searching for when they get on Google. What are they actually typing it that could potentially lead them to you? This is called keyword research. You don’t have to be an SEO expert to get started powerfully here.

I teach clients to research keywords using tools like:
  • Answer the Public
  • Keywords Everywhere
  • Pinterest and YouTube search suggestions
Let’s say you’re a financial coach for women over 40. When doing keyword research, you’ll find search queries like:
  • How much should I have in retirement by 40
  • Is it too late to save
  • How much should I save for my kids’ future
These are your audience’s real questions.
Build your quiz around these, not assumptions.
Still unsure? Go back to your discovery calls. The ones where people said yes. Those The questions they asked you on those calls are your quiz content gold.

4. Build Quiz Questions With Purpose

You don’t need 50 questions. You need 6 to 8 that:
  • Qualify your lead
  • Reveal their needs
  • Segment them clearly for your follow-up
Shorter quizzes convert better.

Use your questions to:
  • Identify readiness
  • Uncover key pain points
  • Personalize your follow-up content and offers

Want to go deeper with more questions? Great. Do that after they become a client. Use long-form quizzes as part of onboarding or progress tracking.

5. Create the Results Page Before the Landing Page

Once your questions are in place, you might be tempted to build your landing page next. Not yet! You need your results page built first. The results page will inform the landing page content, so get that completely nailed down.
Your quiz should point people toward different outcomes based on their profile. Here are a few examples:

  • The Reclaimer: You’ve done the work. Now it’s time to reclaim your financial power.
  • The Over-giver: You’ve given so much. Now it’s time to invest in yourself.
  • The Starter: You’re just beginning, and that’s powerful.
  • The Doubter: You’ve held back, but your breakthrough begins now.
Each profile guides a specific call to action:
  • Book a call for ready leads like Reclaimers and Over-givers
  • Send a PDF or enter a nurture sequence for Starters and Doubters

Only after this step should you write your landing page.

By then, you’ll already know:
  • Who you’re speaking to
  • What language they use
  • What next step they need

Now your copy won’t just sound good. It will convert.

Keep Your Quiz Funnel Simple and Strategic

You can embed your quiz on your website or host it on a separate landing page.

Either way, clarity wins every time.
Use:
  • Headlines that reflect quiz outcomes
  • Subheadings that guide attention
  • Body copy that speaks directly to your audience’s desires
  • CTAs that align with their stage in the buyer journey
When done right, a high-converting quiz funnel becomes a lead generation and sales machine.

Quiz funnels aren’t magic. But when built with the right strategy, they become a powerful tool for qualifying, nurturing, and converting leads.

One client recently made $15k in the first month of launching her highly strategic quiz funnel using Score App and my help. These are the kind of results I want for you too.
You can keep experimenting with freebies and tools that attract the wrong leads.
Or you can build a quiz funnel that attracts the right people, nurtures them with purpose, and guides them to a confident “yes” before the sales call even starts.
If you’re ready to stop guessing and start converting, I’d love to help you build a quiz funnel that’s built to perform.
